G/C Contracting Corp. is in the process of hiring a senior construction estimator.  G/C Contracting Corp. is a Commercial Construction firm based in Lebanon, Ohio servicing all of southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky offering Construction Management, Design/Build, and General Contracting services to corporations and organizations looking to grow their core business. G/C Contracting Corp. works in numerous business sectors specializing in new construction, modernization, and renovation of facilities of all types; from Primary Education, Higher Education, Institutional, Manufacturing, Health Care, Industrial, & Church Facilities.

The estimator position will encompass the following duties;
Job Description
·         Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate (Excavation, Concrete, Structural, etc.)
·         Solicit sub contractor and material estimates through use of online bid solicitation software
·         Determine requirements of proposal in regards to documentation and backup to be submitted to customer
·         Prepare estimates through drawing takeoff, specification review and process review along with calculating complete takeoff of scope of work

(Experience with ProEst Takeoff and Estimating ’11 desirable)
·         Maintain field of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including historical and current information on prices from suppliers
·         Support Project Engineers and Field personnel as needed
·         Reviews design options and recommends best solutions based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials

 Desired Skills & Experience
·         10+ years experience estimating in commercial construction
·         Strong knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control, plus ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems are essential
·         Strong knowledge of RS Means Data
·         Must be proactive, detail oriented, analytical, organized, and able to meet established deadlines.
·         Intermediate computer skills: Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
·         Experience using iSqft and ProEst software solutions a plus
